Vital Hires New PM and Developer

Say Hello to Lianna Dow & Sean Dempsey.

Vital headquarters in Portsmouth, NH got a little bit more crowded this week thanks to the additions of two new hires: Lianna Dow as a new project manager and Sean Dempsey as a new senior web developer. The addition of Dow and Dempsey means we are now bursting at the seams. Seriously, we’re knocking down walls and invading adjacent offices. But in addition to helping us expand in numbers, both Dow and Dempsey are expected to be major contributors to the website development and project management teams in both Portsmouth and Boston, MA moving forward.

Sean Dempsey graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in Computer Science (concentrations in Software Development and Database Administration w/honors, minor in Mathematics) and has been working as a developer for the past several years. Prior to coming to Vital, Sean worked as a front-end developer at SilverTech, a digital agency based in Manchester, NH.

Sean said what excites him about working for a website development company is the “instant satisfaction” of writing code and seeing the effect it has on the web. His favorite aspect of the job is having the ability to leave his creative mark on a project. “I’m highly motivated trying to find new and interesting ways to leave that mark,” he said. When he’s not working on CodePen and GitHub, Sean likes to spend as much time with his wife of 3 years Katie, and their daughter Ceianna, which lately has consisted of visiting museums and planetariums.

Outside of his professional and family life, Sean enjoys participating in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association as a level 3 certified referee. His role as a roller derby ref has taken him all over North America, but there’s no place like his home league of Granite State Roller Derby in Concord.

Lianna Dow is a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology. Her professional background includes management experience that spans multiple industries—most recently at The Atom Group in Portsmouth, NH.. As a new project manager at Vital, Lianna will take on the responsibility of working with clients to complete various web development and design projects. Lianna says she takes great pride in providing her clients with a best in class customer service approach and looks forward to bringing those talents to Vital.

When she’s not working, Lianna enjoys hiking, yoga, swimming, traveling and LOVES cooking Italian food. Having moved to Portsmouth from Vail, CO in Fall 2013, Lianna is preparing for her second New England winter and is excited to continue exploring all of the history of the East Coast with her husband Connor and adorable dog, Panda (Lab Husky Border Collie mix).

Please join us in welcoming Sean and Lianna!
