Which is the Best Press Release Service for You? PR Newswire vs. PRWeb

So you think you know which PR company is the best press release service for your business? Think again.

So you’ve written a killer press release. Awesome. And now you want the world to see it, right? But rather than hire a best press release service like PRWeb or PR Newswire to do this for you, you’re convinced that this is something you can do yourself. If this is the case, then the following scenario likely applies to you:

You’ve scoured the release for spelling and grammatical errors, read it over and over again, and even had an extra set of eyes take a look at it. You’ve figured out all the contacts and email addresses you need, crafted a catchy pitch strategy and are just a click away from sending it out for all to behold. Then the next thing you know, the PR is out the door and you’ve got nothing to do but wait for the interest to come flooding in… but hours, days and even weeks pass to the sound of crickets. After all your work, you’ve yet to see the fruits of your labor. And that’s when the frustration begins to set in.

Trust me. As a former journalist, I used to get inundated with press releases on a daily basis. The trick to getting your PR noticed, in my opinion, has everything to do with whether it is clean and concise. The presentation of the PR and whether or not it is relevant are also key factors. I used to encourage people to “give me everything I need to know” in a press release. Leaving key bits of information out, or having a sloppy/confusing presentation, will most always mean your PR ends up stranded in someone’s inbox rather than it being published. A best press release service will undoubtedly assure your content is clean and complete.

So, before you go tackling this tall task on your own, let’s take a step back and ask one important question:

Is sending a press release (also known as a “PR”) off to your local newspaper, or to an editor/friend who has assured you they will get it some play, going to help you reach the largest audience possible?

The answer is probably not. While this type of strategy ultimately can’t hurt, the chances of getting what you actually want out of it are slim to none. Similar to putting a worm on a hook and casting your line into the water, you’re going to get a few small bites, but probably not that trophy fish you were hoping for. So, rather than throwing out a few individual fishing lines and crossing your fingers, why not use a net?

Perhaps the best and most viable option to ensure your PR is seen and heard is to enlist the help of a press release service, which, if effective enough, will get the word out for you.
